The stakes in this story just went from personal to existential and I am here for it. Xiao Mingyue's original mission was simple: win Feng Buji's heart and save her family. But she refused. She looked at the system and said no, I will not love the man who killed me. So the system offered Plan B—target the emperor, Xie Changsu, a man described as scheming and deep, someone who plays the fool to catch the wise. Five-star difficulty. And the consequence for failure isn't just death, it's slavery. She becomes Xiao Wei's servant, traveling across sub-worlds to target other protagonists. That is a terrifying secondary death sentence. But the external stakes are just as high. Her entire family is in prison. The military tally—the source of immense power in this world—is somewhere in their hands, and Hua Heng is desperate for it. So Xiao Mingyue is walking into the imperial palace as a fugitive, with three years to win over the most dangerous man in the empire, while her family's lives hang in the balance. And internally? She's carrying the trauma of being betrayed by the person she loved most, framed by a woman who literally isn't from this world, and abandoned by everyone around her. The line that hit me hardest: 'This time around, as long as the Xiao family remains safe, everything else can be treated as trash or stepping stones to climb upward. Seek only wealth and glory, not a single drop of true affection.' That's not just a character decision—that's a character transformation. She's choosing power over love, survival over sentiment. And the question that keeps me up at night: can she actually do it, or will her own heart betray her again?
honestly ,the prologue is good and it detailed the mc emotions .the following chapters also has great grammars, but that's also where the flaw is,the descriptions takes up most of the chapter and give little space for the main elements , but I believe you know what you want to portray,or maybe it's because I like fast paced novels.it's great anyways and has chance for improvement .keep it up ?
Okay so I need to talk about the pavilion scene because honestly my heart was POUNDING. They drag Jiang Yihuan up to Lingyun Pavilion, lock the door behind her, and just LEAVE her there. It's raining, she's shivering, her lips are turning pale, and she's screaming Wei Zhao's name with nobody around. I literally threw my phone across the bed. Then Wei Zhao shows up, looks at her trembling over the railing, and says... JUMP. JUST. JUMP. And she does. She actually leaps into his arms. The tension in that moment was unreal. She trusted him completely even though she'd only known him for like two days. That's the kind of plot move that makes you question whether you'd do the same thing. And then Wei Zhilan's lie? The audacity. She claims Jiang Yihuan was cursing at Wei Zhao, throwing a tantrum, and she locked the door to 'report it.' With WITNESSES backing her up. The narrative is setting up this whole web of deception where the innocent girl gets blamed again and again. I'm already anticipating the explosion when the truth comes out. The pacing here is masterful — the author doesn't rush the confrontation, lets us sit in Jiang Yihuan's helplessness before Wei Zhao arrives. Classic misdirection that pays off later.
Loved how Oliver and Li Mao romance is growing stronger. It is a really catchy story, with great characters development and beautiful scenarios combining ancient but at the same time modern China.

I love the story so far, the pacing and world building is great but I'm begging you to please use dialog and conversation between characters more often to explain the world and also to develop the characters. Thanks you for the story so far I'm excited to see where it goes. (also please please keep the main characters relationship monogamous, there's plenty of harem stuff out there and I appreciate the relationship they have)
Dear Author, I'm a big admirer of your writing! After reading your book, I was blown away by your talent. I have some ideas on how to take your book to the next level and expand its readership. Would you be willing to listen to my feedback and suggestions?
The strory was actually good ngl, the writing, the way the characters are described are all great. The writing style is impressive, and the characters feel real. The story's engaging, with well-crafted characters and vivid descriptions. However, it sometimes lacks depth in plot and pacing could be tighter.
