Okay so this chapter is absolutely WILD and I need to talk about it. Lin Xiazhi just killed two people in front of her own brothers and I am SHOOK. Not because it's shocking that she did it—she's clearly a ruthless character at this point—but because of HOW she does it. She doesn't even hesitate. She doesn't even raise her voice. She just... kills them. Like it's nothing. Like swatting a fly. The most chilling part for me is her logic. She literally lays out why they can't report her: the outside world is in chaos, no one will care about a murder case, and even if they did, who would believe them? She's not some hot-blooded killer acting on impulse. She's a cold calculator. And that's way scarier. "The outside world is already in chaos. Who has time to care about a murder case?" This line hit me like a truck. It tells us so much about the world they're in without the author having to stop and explain the political situation. The chaos is so bad that murder is basically invisible. That's worldbuilding through dialogue, and it's brilliant. But here's what I love about the plot structure: the author doesn't just let us sit with the murder. No, no, no. Immediately after Lin Xiazhi kills the brothers and deals with a wolf (which, by the way, Naidou absolutely DESTROYS in like three seconds—this dog is a warrior), she heads back to the Chen residence only to find them TRYING TO STEAL HER CARRIAGE. The audacity. The absolute GALL. Chen Feicai is literally holding the reins, about to drive away with her property, and planning to break her legs when she returns. And then—plot twist! Zhao Xiuxiu showed up with reinforcements. The Chen family wasn't acting alone. This adds a whole new layer to the conflict. It's not just a petty family feud anymore; there are outside players involved. The parallel between the two scenes is what really got me. Lin Xiazhi just proved she'll kill anyone who crosses her, and the Chen family is out here treating her like a pushover. It's dramatic irony at its finest. We know what she's capable of. They don't. And that tension? Chef's kiss. I also love how the Lin brothers' desperation contrasts with Lin Xiazhi's complete emotional detachment. They're kowtowing, begging, crying about family ties—and she just laughs at the word "family." "Family? What family? To her, they were nothing." This is a character who has completely severed emotional ties to her blood relatives. That's a huge character moment disguised as a plot point. The chapter ends on this incredible cliffhanger where Lin Xiazhi walks in and catches them red-handed. Chen Feicai immediately drops the reins and hides behind Zhao Xiuxiu. The power dynamic has already shifted before she even speaks. I literally cannot wait for the next chapter.
I keep thinking about the sweet potato as a symbol and it's everywhere. Yinxing plants it almost as an afterthought—a whim, a way to pass the time—but it becomes this massive, almost alive thing that responds to her. It's her power made visible, her ability to create life in a dead world. And the fact that it's obedient, that it retracts its leaves when told, buries itself deeper to stay hidden—that's basically Yinxing's entire survival strategy personified. She's learning to make herself small, to stay hidden, to be useful without being threatening. The sweet potato is doing the same thing. There's something deeply personal about that parallel. Then there's the chestnut tree—the opposite of the sweet potato. Where Yinxing's plant grows through care and purification, the chestnut tree evolved through raw, unchecked mutation. It's powerful enough to toy with an elite squad, and it 'spared' them. That word is doing a lot of heavy lifting. It's not mercy; it's indifference. The tree doesn't see them as worth killing. That's a different kind of power, and a different kind of threat. The lockdown itself is symbolic—humanity building walls not just against mutated plants but against each other. The C-Zone slum dwellers are being sacrificed for the safety of the center, and their anger is righteous. The story seems to be asking: when the world is ending, who gets protected and who gets left behind? And underneath all of it is this question about what it means to survive. Yinxing's 'Rule Number One: Physical health comes first' isn't just a joke—it's a philosophy. In a world this broken, taking care of yourself is the most radical act.
It is avery good story about friendship and that PSVS also liked blue that account is my big bro acc he liked it and he kept it for fun. But the book is very good
Perfect balance between Plot and 'Plot' tge MC is quite likeable and the rest of the cast has their moments. If your goal is to get your rocks off this is the story for it. Also great grammar, something that majority of the stories here lack.
This is one of my favorite novels, give me a heads up if u want more chapters ??
Fuck, I wish I didn't know this work and could read it again. Seriously, I love the plot and character development, the guy isn't directly OP and it's his determination in battle that makes him who he is. Frankly, I wouldn't want to live through his experiences. Strength to him.
It's more interesting than the way I thought it'd be from the cover?? I like it, keep up the good work author . Let's see how the rest of it plays out
it's a very nice story,I recommend it to authors.
To the comrades who feel confused, this is a novel that contains more than 200+ chapters and the native language is not English. You see the comrades who gave these high ratings and the amount of positive comments because it deserves a beautiful and influential novel in many parts of it. In any case, as usual, enjoy what you have in your hands and we will meet on the road to the end and beyond ???️
i hope you update regularly. Kind of fast paced but atleast it's not boring.
3 chapters in and I’m already hooked?, I don’t remember the last time I wanted to read something this bad. More updates please
