The ancestral hall scene is absolutely cinematic and I need to dissect it. Incense smoke curling upward. Memorial tablets arranged from high to low in flickering candlelight. Fierce beasts carved to guard the spirits. A thick stack of Buddhist scriptures on the altar. This is not just a setting — it's a character. The whole place feels heavy with centuries of ungrateful devotion. And then the fire starts. Not with a bang but with a soft thud as a snow-white candle falls, wax spilling, the wick catching the carelessly placed spirit money. Smoke billowing. Mourning banners climbing into flames. Black smoke making it difficult to breathe. I could literally see this in my head like a film sequence. The visual contrast is devastating — pure white candle against dark incense smoke, the sacred tablets versus the chaos of servants screaming and fleeing. And Jiang Zhaoying standing in the center of it all, cold as ice, hurling an ancestral tablet at an old woman's head. The author also nails the soundscape: the crackling fire, the panicked shouts of 'Someone, come quickly!' repeated like a nightmare refrain, the soot-covered servants gasping 'Everything's burned up, there's nothing left inside.' This is worldbuilding that works on every sensory level. The Song residence itself feels like a living organism — two fires in one day, the Ink Rain Courtyard already gone, now the ancestral hall. Each fire strips away another layer of the family's power and pretense. I felt like I was standing in that smoke.
"I'll be it's a surprise. Tell me, Emily, what are you even doing here?" Li Na said smirking at Emily while leaning back in her seat. Madam Li gave her daughter a playful disapproving look while returning her attention back to Emily. Tell me, dear, why are you her?" She asked with a warm smile.
I realise I'm staring at Devon as he goes blood red. "S-Sorry! I d-d-didn't realise I was s-s-staring" I squeak at him, cursing myself for my girly voice again.

At the center of the buildings was a large cleared off space. A simple yet elegant castle stood proud and tall in the center of that space. Amaris smiled to herself.
