I need to talk about Giant Spirit God because honestly he's the most wholesome character in this entire story and I'm not even being ironic.
Here's this guy who gets dragged into Shen Fuxing's schemes, nearly gets sent to Celestial Prison, and all he wants is to go home and be appreciated by the female immortals who made him snacks. When he walks into his residence and sees them all waiting for him with sachets and homemade treats, the text says he felt 'dazed' and had to 'snap back to reality.'
And then: 'His blue face gradually turned red under their praises, looking somewhat foolish.'
I literally squealed. A mighty Heavenly General, reduced to a blushing mess by kindness. After everything — the political maneuvering, the near-execution, the confusion about why he suddenly got 20,000 merit points — what grounds him is just... people who care about him.
But here's what got me: 'Well, as long as there was still genuine affection, what did he, a mighty Heavenly General, have to fear from the filth of the world?'
That line. That's the emotional anchor of the entire passage. The Heavenly Court is corrupt, transactional, cruel — but Giant Spirit God has something real. And Shen Fuxing, for all her scheming, made sure he kept it. She protected him. She didn't just use him; she saved him. And she didn't even stay to claim credit.
That's the kind of quiet loyalty that makes you love a character.
