Zi Sang Mu
Zi Sang Zhen's mother, originally from the Southern Zhen Kingdom. She was once a celebrated general hailed when mounting a warhorse, but after Southern Zhen was defeated by Northern Yue fifteen years ago, she was confined within the deep palace. She is strict and disciplined with Zi Sang Zhen, often using a plum branch to whip her for laziness, but also shows deep maternal tenderness—building snowmen, playing snowball fights, and applying medicine with heartache. She hides something from her daughter and carries deep melancholy, often sitting alone under a plum tree. She raised Zi Sang Zhen as a prince for selfish reasons related to the political situation between Northern Yue (male-ruled) and Southern Zhen (female-dominated).
