A-Jiao's uncle, a scholar who passed the scholar's exam and works as a private tutor earning tuition fees. He is stern with his wife but deeply caring and protective toward A-Jiao. After learning A-Jiao was still a virgin when rescued, he knelt before ancestral tablets and vowed to find her a proper husband. He treats A-Jiao better than his own family, forbidding his wife from giving her harsher chores. He has held a grudge against his wife for five years for selling A-Jiao.
