A scholar from the embroidery lane, a year older than Su Jinxiu. He is well-read in poetry and literature and has exceptional painting skills. His scholar's robe is often stained with ink marks. Like Su Jinxiu, he is alone in the world with no family to rely on. He painted 'Fishing Alone on a Cold River' which Su Jinxiu later embroidered using void-and-solid stitches, rolling stitches, and cutting stitches.
