The head of the Xue family, a minor official. He is biased and favors his fourth daughter over Xue Wanyao. He allowed Xue Wanyao to be removed from the family lineage after she fell into water and had her reputation tarnished. He arranged a Joy-bringing Marriage for his third daughter (now second daughter after Xue Wanyao's removal) to the Wuding Marquis's eldest son.
