Xuan Yue is mentioned briefly by Wang Shi, who claimed that Xuan Yue and Big Brother (Lu Qi Huai) look like they were carved from the same mold. Shen Wei later reflects that this was nonsense, as there is no resemblance between Lu Qi Huai and Lu Bu Wei. Xuan Yue does not physically appear in the text.
