Male supporting character, one of Fu Cheng's childhood friends from a prominent capital cadre family. His grandfather donated a lot of money early on which helped the family stay safe during the turmoil. Xuan Ji studied abroad with Fu Cheng and they are very close. He initially had a sneering attitude about Fu Cheng's wife but was stunned by Song Shengsheng's beauty. He is one of the friends who would take care of Song Shengsheng if Fu Cheng died.
