The youngest son of Old Xu Laoguan and manager of the family's tea and pastry shop. The shop had thrived under his management but the landlord decided not to renew the lease, forcing the shop to close. He spends his days wandering the streets in straw sandals searching for a new storefront. He borrows money to his eldest brother Xu Dalang for Miaoyun's painting lessons.
