Eldest son of Madam Xu and the Xu family, twenty-four years old and already married. He inherited his father's lack of scholarly aptitude and spent years half-studying and half-playing. Madam Xu entrusted him to her father's care, and he accompanied his maternal grandfather on a year-long inspection trip to the southern regions. He is currently not at home.
