A child who is currently missing. Also referred to as Nian Nian. Xinian had seen the portrait of Pei Zhouwu that Liu Fuying painted, along with Liu Fuying and Jinli. Xinian likely met Pei Zhouwu before going missing, which is how Pei Zhouwu learned about the portrait. Captain Kong may have been involved in Xinian's disappearance.
