Huguo Jiangjun (General Protector of the State) and father of Xia Jianxi and Xia Yuruo. He is a military commander who has been traveling all night and is deeply concerned about his missing daughter. He is furious when Princess Yong'an arrives to break off the engagement between the Xia family and Yong'an Wangfu, viewing it as an insult during a family crisis. He is dignified and proper but shows desperation and grief when his wife collapses upon hearing the news.
