A formerly prosperous silk merchant who adopted Cuique (named Zhenzhen) from the Charity Orphanage. After a series of misfortunes including miscarriages and a failed business deal orchestrated by Cuique, he sold her to southern bandits. He was later swindled by someone claiming to be from the Rongchang Marquis Mansion, lost everything, and now lies bedridden in poverty in the eastern outer city.
