Wen Ranran's father, a tall but gaunt middle-aged man. He holds a sinecure obtained through ancestral favor but currently earns meager income by copying books for others. He is deeply worried about his family's poverty and feels guilty for being unable to provide for his daughter. He loves his family dearly but is helpless against their dire financial situation.
