The patriarch of a large family at the west end of the village, also known as Aunt Dong's husband. He has four sons: Wang Xiangjun, Wang Xiangwen, Wang Xiangquan, and Wang Xiangping. He and his wife struggle with poverty and have many grandsons nearing school age.
