He recognized the tiger-tooth necklace on Song Xu and recalled meeting Wu Mu's tiger mother several years ago. She had pounced on him while extremely hungry, leaving a scar on his shell. She later hunted a wild ox and gave him a hind leg as payment before staying for two or three days and leaving. He pointed them in the direction she went, though Song Xu was skeptical since he pointed south while the necklace came from the west.
