The wife of Xu Yaozu and mother of Xu Nian and Xu Ji. She is referred to as 'Sister-in-law' by her sister-in-law Zheng Chunzhi. She is deeply emotional and cries incessantly after the doctor examines Xu Nian, fearing she might go blind from crying. She is part of the Xu family household in Dahe Village.
