An Educated Youth surnamed Tang, seventeen or eighteen years old with a long face, straight eyebrows, and phoenix eyes. He arrived in the countryside the day before and wanted to rent the house at the west end of the village. When he learned about its troubled history, he offered to pay a hundred yuan upfront to have a new house built instead.
