Sun Yi is the son of Qin Yishu and Sun Jingyong. This year he was over thirty and serving in the military in Tibet. He had started his own family there and had a grandson, though Qin Yishu had barely seen him. Qin Yishu had thought about having another child but could not due to health damage from being sent down during the political upheavals.
