Sun Daqiang is Liangzi's father and a strong man in the village. He is one of the men whom Lin Dalan previously saved from a wolf pack. In this chapter, he helps restrain Jiang Youmei when she is about to kill Er Gouzi, telling her that killing him would only dirty her hands. Later, led by him, several men beat Er Gouzi for bullying the widow and her son. He is portrayed as a righteous man who feels shame for not protecting Lin Dalan's family.
