Also called Du Chengyang and Officer Song/Du Gongan, he is a police officer who has romantic feelings for Wanru. His mother comes to the village to confront Wanru on his behalf. He is engaged to Zhang Shan but had previously had feelings for someone else. He apologizes to Wanru for his mother's behavior but realizes his feelings are unrequited.
