Male, father of Shen Danyun, Shen Danyue, and Shen Wentao. He arrived at Dashan Village eleven years ago with his heavily pregnant wife Zhang Guilan after floods destroyed his hometown. He built a large brick-and-tile house and was kind to the Liu family, sharing game after hunting trips. He saved Liu Changgeng from a giant python last year but fell off a cliff while entangled by the beast. His body was never found and everyone assumed he was swallowed by the snake.
