Female antagonist, also called Liu Chen-shi. She is the self-proclaimed grandmother of the three children but is not their biological grandmother. She has a thin short upper lip, thick fleshy lower lip, and a withered face covered in deep wrinkles. She is cruel, abusive, and uses a thick wooden cane to beat the starving children. She moved into the Shen residence after Shen Chengzhi's death, claiming to care for the widow and orphans while actually exploiting them.
