He cast venomous glances at Bai Shuang, incited the crowd, and held a fire starter with a button that could control all fire starters simultaneously. He planned to use it to force the city to surrender food and water, which would have killed hundreds. He was later caught by the angry crowd and taken away for imprisonment after Song Lüfeng asked who encouraged the self-immolation.
