Legitimate eldest son of the third master of the Ruan family. When Su Shu married Ruan Qingchuan, Xuanhua was only four years old. He is described as having the kindest heart, growing grapes himself and sending them to Su Shu through Lian'er. He still shows kindness to Su Shu after her husband's death, likely because Ruan Qingchuan used to guide him in his studies. He is Su Shu's second nephew (Ruan Qingchuan being his second uncle).
