Female, also called Yuan'er or Cousin Yuan. She is the daughter of Madam Rong (the second) and a cousin of Huo Ningyu from the second branch of the Rong family. She fell in love with a scholar named Shen Zhiyan after meeting him at Huguo Temple. She went on a hunger strike to insist on marrying him and was subsequently confined to her quarters by her father.
