Male supporting character, the father of Huo Ningyu and the Hubu Shangshu (Minister of Revenue). He is the adoptive father of Jiang Ning. He was nearly struck fatally by Jiang Ning's father who took a blow meant for him. He is deeply affected upon discovering his daughter's betrayal and blames himself for poor judgment in betrothing Huo Ningyu to Xie Zhengyang.
