Wang Baochuan's father, a former Prime Minister who was impeached and forced to kneel before colleagues. He was accused of involvement in Wei Hu's rebellion and of ordering murders. Despite his fall from grace, he dotes on his youngest daughter Baochuan, agreeing to have a dagger made for her. He is described as a successful scholar who once rode proudly to Chang'an.
