Also referred to as Lao Shui. A deaf and blind widower in the mountains who is more than thirty years older than Lu Yujiao. He was willing to empty his family's wealth to marry Lu Yujiao despite her cursed reputation of having all three husbands die on their wedding nights. He was expected to come pick up Lu Yujiao early the next morning, with instructions to tie her up in the cellar with a rope if she disobeyed.
