Also referred to as Father Si or the Si family's father. He is Si Yao's grandfather and the patriarch of the Si family. After losing both his daughter and son-in-law figure, he is consumed by grief, crying day and night over Si Wen's coffin. He works doing laundry for wealthy families in town to support the household and has saved half a guan of silver coins. He is harsh and abusive toward Fang Zhiyue, blaming him for Si Wen's death despite having bought him for half a tael of silver to bring good luck. He is described as having small piercing eyes.
