An elderly man selling rapeseed oil at the Baoshan Brigade market. He has been selling since morning with little success. He makes bamboo oil bottles himself. When he sees the scarred man kidnapping a child, he bravely confronts the thief, pointing his pipe at him and demanding he put the child down. He is motivated partly by Lin Tingwan's promise to buy his oil in the future.
