He issued an imperial decree expelling Tian Wenhe from the Palace School and ordering Xu Duofu to rest. He is described as a benevolent ruler who loves the people like his own children, though sometimes bloodthirsty toward corrupt officials. He has a close relationship with Xu Xiaoman.
