The protagonist, a young woman who was drowning in a river after being betrayed by her fiancé Lin Anguo and cousin Ning Yue. She was overweight (180 pounds) but possessed tremendous strength, possibly enhanced by water ghosts. Her father Ning Lao Er died in military service, and her family was falsely accused of infidelity by her uncle Ning Tie Dan. She was saved by water ghosts and returned to seek justice against those who wronged her and her mother.
