Also referred to as Auntie Ding, she is the mother of Ding Miao and Ding Yi. She works in a textile factory. Her husband, Father Ding, was deputy workshop director of a newspaper printing factory. She is proud of Ding Miao's perfect exam scores but frustrated with Ding Yi's poor performance. She helps Song Qiaoxi check the class assignment list and confirms Chu Jin is in Class 5, Grade 1.
