The father of the original Jiang Yanyi and also the man who raised the female lead as his illegitimate daughter. He adored his illegitimate daughter (the true last princess of the former dynasty) and neglected his legitimate children. He slapped Jiang Yanyi multiple times and publicly declared her dead to protect the female lead's reputation. He was married to Madam Jiang in a political arrangement and never loved her. In the novel's later parts, he dies protecting the daughter of his first love.
