The old head of the Miller family, obsessed with bloodlines almost to a superstitious degree. He initially disliked Arthur Miller seeing him as an impure Eastern mongrel but had to recognize him as one of the few legitimate bloodlines. His body had deteriorated after family upheavals. He was stubborn and eccentric, sustaining himself through social appearances until Arthur matured.
