Marshal Zhao is a military leader in Tianqi Kingdom who led Tianqi's troops to surround Xiao Congyan's estate the day after Xiao Congyan burned the military camp and returned with Jiang Qingqing. He was given the task of dealing with Xiao Congyan, offering him a choice between entering prison to confess his crimes or being demoted to a commoner. He witnessed Xiao Congyan's supernatural abilities personally and did not want to face him as an enemy on the battlefield in the future, believing Tianqi's army would have no chance of winning. He tried to persuade Xiao Congyan to cooperate, stating that the Emperor was only thinking of the kingdom, but Xiao Congyan ignored him completely.
