Also called Old Madam Bu, an elderly woman with neatly combed white hair who runs a girls' school. She is strict but not harsh, holds a ruler, and teaches etiquette, needlework, the Admonitions for Women, literacy, and poetry. Half of her students are Manchu girls who do not bind their feet and ride horses. She treats all students equally.
