Lu Bu Wei (also referred to as Lu Buwei) is the former Duke who has recently passed away. His death left the Duke's title still hanging. In the original story, he was a husband who deeply adored Shen Wei. Wang Shi had previously remarked on how lucky Shen Wei was to have a husband who adored her. Lu Qi Huai is implied to be connected to him, though Lu Qi Huai is the son of a concubine. Shen Wei notes that Lu Qi Huai bears no resemblance to Lu Bu Wei at all, contrary to what Wang had claimed about Xuan Yue and Big Brother looking alike.
