Liu Zhiheng's younger brother, a genius student studying at Ping'an Academy in Pingzhou. He only gets two days off each month. He was being sent back to the academy on an ox cart when heavy snow threatened to block the roads. In the original story, he was driven to madness and froze to death by a ditch after Liu Zhiheng's death.
