A deceased child who was playing hide-and-seek in a haystack when vagrants attacked the village over ten years ago. He was asleep in the haystack and burned to death when the vagrants started fires to escape. His death caused his mother, Youlin's wife, to go mad. He is mentioned in flashbacks and by villagers discussing the past incident.
