Inspector He Chaoyong is the head of Z-Team in the West Kowloon RCU. He is aggressive, competitive, and initially confronts Team A over case credit, nearly physically assaulting a fellow officer. He attempts to poach Jian Ruochen by offering double Guan Yingjun's salary, but is rebuffed when he learns Guan Yingjun is giving half his pay and bonuses. He is assigned to write a two-thousand-word formal apology to be read at the Monday morning briefing. He harbors resentment towards Guan Yingjun and takes malicious glee in the prospect of Guan Yingjun failing on the Great Ferry Heist case. Despite his anger, he is easily placated by coffee and pastries, almost forgetting his initial fury.
