The seventh son of the Huan family, courtesy name Hengzhi, from Hedong. His grandfather Huan Yu serves as Minister of the Imperial Treasury. At twenty years old and still unmarried, he entered into a nominal marriage agreement with Jiang Congyan. He was previously betrothed to Miss Lu of the Lu family, but after her father Lu Xun failed in suppressing a rebellion four years ago, the Lu family was punished and demoted. Huan Jun secretly removed her servant status and visits her in secret, though he was eventually forced by his family to marry another woman who later died of depression. He is described as a minor official at this point who would later rise to become one of the most influential ministers of the late Liang dynasty.
