He manipulated Duan Yunfeng into rebelling by explaining the Golden Dagger Scheme and offering to help him leave Chang'an. He wrote a secret letter to An Youliang about his plan, but Duan Yunfeng intercepted it. He was ultimately executed by beheading at the sacrificial altar.
