An unnamed lowly maintenance worker at the gas company who harbored lifelong resentment after being insulted by a resident during a home inspection. After seeing his colleague receive praise and a meal from a kind resident (Jiang Zhi), he sought revenge on the household that had looked down on him, causing a natural gas leak that killed all six members of that family.
