Her first discovery is a mysterious ice-blue gemstone that grants her a spatial storage ability. This dimension functions as a frozen warehouse where time does not pass, allowing her to store perishable goods, water, and even living creatures without decay. She tests the limits of this power, confirming that she can store and retrieve items instantly, which becomes the cornerstone of her survival strategy.

The apocalypse begins with torrential rains that last for weeks, causing widespread flooding and infrastructure failure. Jiang Zhi remains in her high-rise apartment, which is located on elevated ground, safe from the initial floods. She observes the collapse of social order as supplies run scarce and desperation grows among her neighbors. During a supply distribution event, she encounters hostile residents attempting to extort her. When a woman tries to use Jiang Zhi as a shield from an angry mob, Jiang Zhi kills the woman and her pursuers with a silenced pistol, eliminating witnesses to protect her secret. She also encounters a mutated saltwater crocodile in a nearby park, drawn by the gemstone in her space. Using her shotgun and the combat skills of her mutated cat, she kills the beast and stores its body in her space, which causes the gemstone to grow and expand her storage capacity. The story follows her transition from a prepared survivor to an active participant in the new world order, relying on her resources, weapons, and mutated companions to navigate the dangers of the early apocalypse.
