Male supporting character, an educated youth sent to the countryside traveling with Su Feifei. He initially tries to mediate the berth dispute between Shi Qingqian and Su Feifei but quickly backs down when Shi Qingqian accuses them of landlord-class thinking. He is somewhat subservient to Su Feifei's demands, buying her meals and fetching water despite his reluctance. He is concerned about Su Feifei's father's influence on his potential return to the city.
