Qin Ming's young wife, approximately sixteen or seventeen years old, with fair skin, a delicate oval face, and gentle attractive features. She is the daughter of the elderly scholar Fan Jin from a nearby town. Raised on traditional teachings of obedience and virtue, she believes her husband is her entire world. She pawned her mother's silver hairpin, the only valuable keepsake she inherited, to exchange for half a sack of coarse rice to survive. She is kind, self-sacrificing, and deeply devoted to her husband, worrying constantly about his health and well-being despite their dire poverty.
